GoodSearch: You Search...We Give!

What if St. Joachim Church earned a donation every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our parish? Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com
is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users.
Add the St Joachim Church toolbar at http://www.goodsearch.com/toolbar/st-joachim-church
Saint Joachim Church has been paid in REAL dollars by parishioners using GoodSearch or GoodShop. The revenue that is generated through Good Search is used to pay the yearly fee for our parish website. If more people begin to use this service, the parish will realize more “FREE” money that will enable us as a parish to do bigger and better things for the parish community. It‟s true what they say……..”Pennies make dollars!

MASS BOOK FOR 2012

The Mass Book for 2012 is open. Arrangements for daily and weekend Masses may be made in the Parish Office each weekday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Consider remembering your loved ones or a special intention with a Mass at St. Joachim’s Church. There is a $10.00 stipend for each Mass requested.

Annointing of the Sick

Through this sacrament the Church cares for the sick. It serves Christ himself in the suffering members of his Mystical Body. The Church shows this concern not only by visiting those who are in poor health, but also by raising them up through this sacrament during their illness or when in danger of death.

On the last Sunday (and the Saturday Vigil of that Sunday) of every month, the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated after EACH
Mass.

After Mass, please move forward to the first pew/row in the center of the church/chapel and Father Wetzel will return to administer the sacrament to you. If you are suffering from a physical illness, just diagnosed or long-term, going into the hospital for a procedure or suffering from an emotional or spiritual illness, please take advantage of the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

Catholics come home

www.CatholicsComeHome.org evangelization commercials have been airing nationwide, inviting those away from the practice of their faith to return “home.” We encourage our parishioners to pray for those who have left the Church and to invite them back “home” this Christmas season. “Come and See!”  We pray for this national campaign to create the largest family reunion in Church history! Altar Society

The parish of Saint Joachim is looking to establish a group of volunteer members, the Altar Society, who are members within the parish, who would care for cleaning of the various sacred vessels, altar covers, vestments and care of the sanctuary.

The mission of the Altar Society is to enhance the worship at Saint Joachim Church by devoting time and talent to create an altar and sanctuary that exemplifies the glory of God. If you are interested in joining the Altar Society, please speak to Fr. Wetzel or call the Rectory Office at 215-535-0580.
